Simple Dry Skin

Simple dry skin refers to dry skin conditions resulting from a lack of natural oils in the skin (see Causes, below, for more information on skin oils).

Complex Dry Skin

Complex dry skin refers to dry skin conditions resulting from a lack of both natural oils and skin moisture.

Symptoms and Signs:

As the name implies, dry skin looks flaky, dry, and dull and lacks the typically smooth appearance of normal skin. The skin feels tight and often requires moisturizer for relief.

Chapped, cracked skin results from extremely dry, dehydrated skin.

For complex dry skin conditions, signs include brown spots, discolouration, enlarged pores, fine lines, and sagging skin.
