Page 4 of 8 What to Expect: A migraine can occur anywhere from once a week to once or twice a year. Initial symptoms usually disappear with the onset of a migraine and are replaced by the intense pain characterized by this condition. Nausea and vomiting commonly occur. Diarrhea, sweating, chills, and light sensitivity may also be present. When you experience a migraine attack, find a quiet, dark room where you can lie down. You can usually resume normal activity after the attack, but you may have a strong desire to sleep.
