Description

The tonsils assist the immune system by filtering out viral and bacterial infections. Tonsillitis is a painful throat infection that causes the tonsils to redden and swell. It is important to try and heal this ailment quickly, as scar tissue accumulates on the tonsils.

 
Symptoms and Signs:

In acute cases, the symptoms can be an intense flu or cold, fever, chills, bad breath, a sore and red throat, coughing, and fatigue. The sore throat is also characterized with swallowing difficulty. The glands on the side of the throat will be swollen and tender. The tonsils will rid themselves of the toxins with the development of pus.
