So just what is "The Good Life"? Is it waking up Sunday morning with breakfast in bed? Is it a stroll down your favourite walking trail? Or perhaps sitting down to one of your favourite meals. Do we spend most of our career life eventually working towards "The Good Life"? All the extra hours and overtime and time spent away from family, friends, and hobbies, to put us far enough ahead to -- eventually -- reap the rewards of our career efforts? Vacation allowance is a good example of this for me. I recall putting in the extra time to squeeze out enough extra vacation allowance, sacrificing personal time and hobby time and down time in the process. But in the end, I probably overworked and used that extra vacation time accrued to recover from my efforts to secure said extra vacation time. A good lesson. A friend sent me this video, which talks all about "The Good Life". I enjoyed it and I hope you do as well.
It's funny how we work sometimes. How DO we reach our end goals. A cliché comes to mind about how it's not the destination but the journey. How has your journey between towards reaching your Good Life? I invite you to leave a comment below!
