Ailments / Situations Where Used Melatonin is a powerful antioxidant, and may be more effective that vitamin E, beta-carotene or vitamin C. It helps prevent free radical damage in the body, is known to stimulate the immune system, and plays a role in producing testosterone, estrogen, and other hormones. The pattern of melatonin production is similar to human growth hormone (HGH, an anti-aging hormone), and dehydroedianrosterone (DHEA). Melatonin is used to treat or prevent insomnia, jet lag, and depression. It is also beneficial in the treatment or prevention of breast and prostate cancer. |
