Description

The fresh, clean smelling essential oil is pressed from the peels of the fruit that is common to America.

 

Ailments / Situations Where Used

In addition to limes, lemons have also been used to treat scurvy. The most traditional uses include those meant for purification and disinfection. Lemon is said to rid the mind of irrational thinking. Lemon's antiseptic action is well used by the cleaning industry, as well as its' grease cutting properties. It is also used as an insect repellant and as a remedy for oily skin.

Peel or rind.

 

Preparations

Blends with: lavender, neroli, juniper, eucalyptus, geranium, fennel, chamomile, frankincense, sandalwood, rose and ylang ylang.

Insect Repellent - spritz clothing with lemon essential oil to dispel insects.

Oily skin - add six drops to 500mL water and steam for fifteen minutes.

 

Contraindications / Precautions / Warnings

The essential oil should not be used on the skin, as it may cause sensitivity for some individuals, especially when used in the sun.
