Latin Name: Cichorium intybus

Description

Characteristics: Possessive, Self-Pity

Chicory is one of Bach's original twelve remedies. It is for people who control and manipulate their loved ones. These people tend to be of the mothering kind, as they are loving and kind but have the tendency to fuss over others and be overprotective. Often because these people are strong willed they can expect others to conform to their values, be critical and be intolerant of another's decision. They tend to need constant attention and attempt to grab their listeners by being talkative, opinionated, and argumentative. Even though these people have a strong personality, they can also be filled with self-pity and be easily hurt or offended.

Ailments / Situations Where Used

Chicory helps people have a selfless concern for others in which they love and advise without demanding love and attention in return. They will let others make their own decisions without stating their opinions, even if they predict trouble. The Chicory person will take excess energy placed on others and direct it to their own happiness.
