Latin Name: Gentiana amarella

Description

Characteristic: Easily Discouraged

Gentian is one of Bach's original twelve remedies. It is for those that are easily discouraged when things go wrong, or when faced with difficulties, from a known cause. This loss of faith in one self often occurs after a current failure such as doing poorly on an exam, not getting the desired job, or losing hope for a cure to a chronic illness. An individual who has the ability to succeed has lost faith in themselves, and often are in denial that they are the cause of the set back. This only further prolongs the problem. This feeling is often associated with the remedy Mustard. The difference lies in that Mustard is used for an unknown cause, whereas Gentian is from a known source.
