Latin Name: Verbena officinalis

Description

Characteristic: Close Minded

Vervain is one of Bach's original twelve remedies. It is for those with fixed principles and ideas, which they hold a strong belief in, and are stubborn when it comes to readjusting these values. They are devoted to causes and push themselves beyond their limit creating exhaustion. These people tend to be characterized as perfectionist, high strung, strong willed, and over enthusiastic to their causes. They do not hesitate to speak their mind when others do not follow their same set of ideals. Often they are involved in support groups, and are active in the fight for other people's injustices. The problem for these people arises when they have taken on too many roles (which they often have the tendency to do), or when they are not satisfied with the results of their efforts causing frustration and tension.

Ailments / Situations Where Used

Vervain will help those to relax and release the tension held within. They will also learn that one person alone cannot take on the troubles of the world and it takes the co-operation of many to realize effective change. It also will be understood that all are entitled to their own opinions and, even if not congruent with the Vervain's thoughts, is nonetheless valid.
