Contraindications / Precautions / Warnings In the recommended doses, psyllium is generally safe to use. If you suffer from chronic constipation, consult with your naturopath or other health practitioner before using psyllium seed. It is important to maintain adequate fluid intake when using psyllium seed to prevent constipation. Ensure you drink plenty of fluids. Psyllium seed husk may cause bloating. Allergies and skin and respiratory reactions to psyllium dust are uncommon. Adverse reactions are generally limited to people that are highly exposed to the dust, such as those that work in psyllium product manufacturing plants. |
