Description

Sea salt is derived from the sea and contains eighty-four mineral elements, twenty-four of which are essential for life. The minerals present in sea salt are found in similar ratios to the mineral composition of our bodies. As these minerals are in organic form, your body is able to process it easily and eliminate any unused portion.

Modern table salt is made by extracting all minerals except sodium and chloride. The extracted minerals are quite valuable commercially and are sold for various purposes. Iodine is then added to the salt, in addition to other chemicals that make the salt whiter and free-flowing and help prevent water absorption. Many people question the inclusion of these additives in table salt and choose sea salt as a natural alternative.

Some sources suggest that refined salt is not easily processed by the body, allowing for deposits of the salt in joints, blood vessel walls, lymphatics, the brain, urinary tract, sexual organs, and glands, causing impairment of function. It is also suggested that this process does not occur with sea salt due to its more natural, assimilative state and ease of elimination by the body.

Ailments / Situations Where Used

There are no specific situations where sea salt is used therapeutically, however, deficiencies of the trace minerals found in sea salt can cause a variety of disorders including cancer, immune system diseases, memory impairment, nervous disorders, rheumatism, and many others.
