Description

Wheatgrass is among the most nutritionally dense foods available. It is a storehouse of vitamins and minerals and also contains high levels of chlorophyll -- an oxygen-rich compound that helps promote healthy cell function.

Thirty grams of wheatgrass juice is nutritionally equivalent to one kilogram of dark green leafy vegetables, in terms of calcium, magnesium, phosphorus, sodium, and potassium. Wheatgrass also supplies all eight essential amino acids.

Ailments / Situations Where Used

Wheatgrass has powerful antibacterial properties and is also an efficient detoxifier. It enhances general immune system and liver function, promotes the elimination of waste, and may also suppress tumours.

Optimal Absorption

Start with low doses so as not to shock your system. Take an equivalent of 30g daily. Wheatgrass has a rather "unique" taste that will take getting used to.

For fresh wheatgrass, use a high quality juicer that does not generate a lot of friction and heat when preparing. It is quite easy to reduce the nutritional quality of wheatgrass if poorly processed.

Contraindications / Precautions / Warnings

Do not take high doses initially.
