Ailments / Situations Where Used Historically and today, squawvine has been drunk by West Indian women during pregnancy for a safe and easy delivery. This plant helps tone the uterus, strengthens the nerves, circulation, and promotes a healthy fetus. It is used in sore nipples, painful menstruation, bladder complaints, incontinence, and suppression of urine. Its astringent properties make it useful for stopping excessive discharges such as excess menstrual flow and leuccorhea. It prepares the womb for childbirth and assists it back to normal after.
