Pot Marigold

Latin Name: Calendula officinalis

Description

The brightly coloured orange flowers not only provide "instant sunshine" to your garden, but are also an effective remedy in dealing with a number of skin-related problems.

This homeopathic antiseptic helps prevent and treat infections in cuts, abrasions and burns. It is also commonly prepared both as an ointment for external application and as a homeopathic tincture.

Ailments / Situations Where Used

Calendula can prevent serious infections when used topically in any type of skin injury, including wounds, infected wounds, abrasions, cuts, scrapes, burns, and sores. It can promote dramatic healing in cases of existing wound infections when taken internally in high potencies. It may also sooth the pains in the wounds.

Calendula can assist in recovery after surgery and help heal diaper rash and sore nipples.
