L. Bifidus Enema, Lemon Juice Enema, Retention Enema
Introduction
Historically, the ancient Greeks and Romans used enemas as a form of internal bathing. The Ancient Egyptians performed enemas using reeds to pass water into the body via the rectum.
An enema is a partial colonic irrigation that cleanses the lower colon and promotes liver detoxification. Enema kits can be purchased at drugstores or health clinics and various approaches can be used to treat a variety of conditions. There are two types of enemas: cleansing and retention.
Cleansing Enemas
The cleaning enema is retained for three to four minutes and is used to flush the colon. Two cleansing enemas, catnip tea and lemon juice, are outlined below.
Retention Enema
The retention enema is retained in the body for approximately fifteen minutes and is used to promote liver detoxification. Two retention enemas, coffee and L. Bifidus, are outlined below. A cleansing enema is typically prepared first to enhance the effectiveness of a retention enema
