Five Spiritual Principles of Reiki Just For Today
These principles brought the realization home to Dr. Usui that had been giving healing away without requiring the recipient to take any responsibility whatsoever for his/her own healing. Also there had been no exchange of services or energy. And so he integrated these spiritual concepts into his teaching of Reiki. Thus, Dr. Usui began to teach and practice Reiki throughout Japan and soon had a following of sixteen teachers. In 1893, Dr. Usui made his transition after asking Dr. Chujiro Hayashi to preserve and perpetuate the Reiki techniques. Dr. Hayashi continued in Dr. Usui's tradition, travelling, teaching and dedicating his life to Reiki. He trained two Japanese women, one of whom lived in Japan, the other in Hawaii. The one who lived in Hawaii, Mrs. Hawayo Takata was made a Reiki master by Dr. Haashi in 1938, prior to his death. Mrs. Takata was instrumental in spreading the teachings of Reiki to North America. Today, there are hundreds of Reiki master's all over the world. Many of these individuals dedicate and commit their lives to living, being and perpetuating this universal life force of Reiki. The honor of assisting in the harmony and balance of the universe and providing others with the means of balancing their bodies, minds and spirit are what Reiki masters are ordained to do. |
